About This Dog for Adoption

Rocco's ideal home

Rocco can live with high school aged kids but will need to be the only pet at home as he is rather nervous. He is house trained and has been left by himself for two or three hours without worry.

Could you be Rocco's perfect match?

Poor Rocco came to us in rather a state with lots of patches of fur missing and he was a very miserable boy indeed. Veterinary investigations revealed he was suffering from sarcoptic mange, but a full course of treatment later, Rocco is starting to look like a handsome boy again. His fur is growing back quickly and he seems much happier in general and is ready for his new family to come get him. Rocco is quite a reserved chap, he likes to settle in his kennel and watch the world go by and his previous family reported that he like to sit and calmly watch the birds in the garden too. He has been a trooper for all the handling of his poorly skin and has no issue with having a harness put on. He's happy to meet people out on his walks but he is quite strong on his lead so adopters will need to be sure they can manage his strength. Rocco seems to be rather worried about meeting other dogs and he sometimes stops to stare at them on his walks, so he could benefit from a little training. He will walk close to other calm dogs and he does show some interest in them so slow and steady should be the way for any introductions to new friends.
