About This Dog

Elderberry's ideal home

Meet Elderberry, an affectionate 5-year-old Pointer eagerly searching for her forever home. As the only dog in the household, Elderberry will thrive best, once settled, she'll benefit from building confidence around quieter dogs, though she may grumble at overly vocal or boisterous ones. She's been friendly with everyone at the center and is great with children aged 6 and up who are accustomed to bouncy dogs.

Could you be Elderberry's perfect match?

Elderberry loves cuddles and might think she's a lap dog despite her size. She came to us as a stray, so her background is a mystery, but she adapts well. With time, she can be left alone for a few hours and seems mostly housetrained, though a refresher might be needed. A garden is handy but not essential as long as she has regular outdoor access for toileting and exercise. Elderberry happily jumps in the car for car rides but can be vocal while traveling. Elderberry can stalk birds and may chase wildlife or cats, so she should be kept on a lead in public areas. Our behavior team will provide guidance to help set her up for success. Elderberry is ready to bring joy and companionship to her new family!
