About This Dog for Adoption

Luna's ideal home

Luna can live with children over the age of ten but no other pets. She is house trained but not used to being left by herself. Luna has some joint pain that may require ongoing medication.

Could you be Luna's perfect match?

Lovely Luna is in our care through no fault of her own but she really wasn't coping well in the kennel environment. By placing her in a foster home she has become relaxed again, and we've been able to see the true Luna, and she is a playful and loving girl. She loves attention and approaches people confidently, and at home she is happy to curl up quietly on her own chair for a snooze. Luna has had quite a lot of training and is very responsive and quick to learn, but she lacks some confidence around other dogs. She is walking with a few quite ones that she is familiar with but when ambushed by three that were off lead she was quickly overwhelmed. We feel she would be happiest at home as the only dog. Luna has a strong prey drive and we know she has killed birds in her previous home, and she has a keen eye for other wildlife so care should always be taken anywhere she may encounter small feathered and furred beasties. Luna really has shown herself to be a smashing dog in her foster home and we're sure she's going to make a family very happy. Luna has proven herself quite nifty at being able to open doors, her new family will need to ensure external door are locked to prevent any escaping.

Pointer Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a German Pointer.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the German Pointer Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
